Los Angeles Current Events: Updating Past Stories

Our bail bonds blog often reports on criminal events in Los Angeles. Many times these stories do not wrap up, so today we are going to bring you the updates to these bail bonds news stories.

5-Year-Old Drowning Victim Still on Life Support

Last week we brought you a story about a woman who tried to murder her two daughters, ages 1 and 5, by drowning them in the bath tub. The mother had expressed symptoms of depression, although nobody expected the result. Shortly after posting the blog, it was announced that the youngest daughter passed away.

The 5-year-old daughter, Marian, remains on life support, but the father has reportedly decided to take her off of life support and donate her organs. As of now, that action has not been followed through, and she remains hooked up.

Homeless Killer and Former Marine Pleads Not Guilty

1-800-BAIL-BOND also reported on a man, Itzcoatl Ocampo, who was stabbing homeless people in December 2011 through January 2012, causing a panic in the homeless community. Ocampo is being charged with the murders of four homeless men, as well as a mother and son from two months before the homeless stabbings.

The former marine has had mental issues since returning from service overseas and it is believed that an insanity plea could be entertained. Ocampo’s own attorney has admitted to having difficulty speaking with his client. A case hearing is set for March 9.
